How accurate is the trim point?
Trimming uses keyframe-based cutting for maximum speed. The actual cut point may shift slightly to the nearest keyframe in the video, which is typically within 1-2 seconds of your chosen time. For frame-exact cuts, the video would need to be re-encoded.
What social media formats can I trim for?
You can trim any video to the duration you need — 15 seconds for Instagram Stories, 60 seconds for TikTok, or any custom length. The trimmed output is MP4, compatible with all platforms.
Does trimming re-encode the video?
No, our trimmer uses stream copy (-c copy) by default, which cuts the video without re-encoding. This makes trimming extremely fast and preserves the original video and audio quality exactly.
