About the Video Rotator
The Video Rotator turns your video 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or a full 180°, so you can fix a sideways clip or match the orientation you need. It also offers to reset any embedded rotation metadata that some phones attach, which can otherwise cause a video to look rotated twice. Everything runs locally in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm.

Why is my video still sideways after rotating?
Many phone videos store their orientation as a metadata tag rather than actually rotating the pixels — the camera saves the frame sideways and just tells players to display it upright. When you rotate pixels with this tool on top of that existing tag, some players apply both, leaving the video sideways or upside down. If the tool detects a rotation tag on your file, enable "Reset orientation metadata" so only the pixel rotation you chose applies.
What video formats are supported?
You can upload MP4, WebM, or MOV files up to 500MB. The rotated result is always exported as an MP4.
Will rotating reduce quality?
Rotating requires re-encoding the video track (the audio track is copied untouched), so there is a small amount of generation loss like any re-encode. The tool uses a high-quality encoding setting, so the difference is generally not noticeable.
