Convert HEIC to JPG Online — iPhone Photos Made Compatible
Turn iPhone and iPad HEIC photos into universally supported JPGs without installing software. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.
Why this matters
Apple's HEIC format is efficient — HEIC files are roughly half the size of equivalent JPGs — but Windows, many websites, and older software don't support it. Converting to JPG before sharing eliminates compatibility headaches. Because the conversion happens in your browser, camera roll photos never leave your device, which matters when those photos are personal.
Step by step
- 1Open the Image Format ConverterDrag your HEIC file onto the upload area, or click to browse your photos.
- 2Select JPG as the output formatPick JPG from the format dropdown.
- 3Adjust quality if neededDefault 90% quality gives an excellent result with a reasonable file size. Lower it to 70–80% for smaller files.
- 4ConvertThe HEIC is decoded and re-encoded as JPG in your browser. No server involved.
- 5DownloadSave the JPG to your device, ready to share or upload anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my iPhone shoot HEIC instead of JPG?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default since iOS 11 because it stores the same quality at about half the file size. You can switch to JPG in iPhone Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.
Will the JPG look the same as the original HEIC?
At 90% quality, the converted JPG is visually indistinguishable. HEIC does support slightly wider dynamic range in some HDR shots, which can't fully translate to standard JPG.
Is my iPhone photo uploaded to a server?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Can I convert a Live Photo (HEIC + MOV)?
Yes for the still image component (HEIC). The video portion of a Live Photo (MOV) is a separate file and not handled by the image converter.
Will location and EXIF data be preserved?
Basic EXIF metadata is preserved during conversion. Some HEIC-specific metadata fields that have no JPG equivalent are dropped.
Can I batch-convert many HEIC files at once?
Use the Batch Photo Editor to process multiple HEIC files in one go with the same format and quality settings.
